Chapter 755 Hendrix wasn't a particularly delicate person, but even he found the environment hard to endure. Not long after, he was woken up by a commotion outside. He opened his eyes and pushed himself up, just in tto see what was happening outside the window.
Irene was chasing someone off with a broom. Despite her age, she still had the energy to scold while giving chase, her voice so loud and full of vigor that it startled everyone inside and out. And then, she turned around and scolded the onlookers as well.
Noelle followed closely behind her, sheltered under her protection. Her eyes were curious as she glanced around, but she didn't dare stray more than half a step from Irene.
Just as Hendrix was watching, Noelle noticed him, too. She seemed to freeze for a moment, then quickly looked away and tugged at Irene's hand.

Once inside, Irene turned to Noelle and said, "Don't worry, Nelly. Sid's nothing but a bastard. A good girl like you will have no trouble finding someone to marry! Just wait-I'll find you a better match soon." "Mom, I'm actually not in a hurry to get married," Noelle said.
"That won't do!" Irene shot back without hesitation. "A grown woman can't stay unmarried forever. How can you go through life without getting married and having kids? Right now, I'm here to protect you to make sure no one dares to bully you.
"But what about when I'm gone? Who's going to stand up for you if you're all alone?" Noelle had no answer to that.
Just then, there was a knock on the door.
"Who is it?" Irene's voice was still filled with anger from earlier.
The person outside, however, didn't seem intimidated. "Hello, could you open the door?" "Who's this now?" Irene muttered to herself before walking over to open the door.
There stood Hendrix in a white shirt, his hair slightly disheveled, with bangs that had grown long enough to cover his eyebrows. The smile on his lips looked incredibly gentle under the morning light.
"Hello, I'm here to return these," he said, holding out a clean bowl and a thermos.
Irene was stunned. After all, those were indeed her things.

You even stole my bowl and thermos! Have you no shame? "And you're the one spreading rumors and ruining Nelly's reputation, aren't you? I'll beat you to death, you scoundrel!" As she spoke, Irene reached for her broom again.
Noelle quickly stopped her. "Mom, calm down!"
"Let go of me! I'm going to teach this pretentious pretty boy@lesson today. Let's see if he dares to spread lies and steal again!" "No, Mom. I was the one who gave those to him," Noelle hurriedly explained.
Irene froze and stared at Noelle in disbelief.
"I took them to him last night," Noelle said haltingly. "He's our new om Sour neighbor and I just wanted to help out." "You" Irene looked at her, but the nove
