Chapter 49 Harvey agreed, albeit jokingly.
"I knew you were the best, bro." Orlena tried to smooth things over as she grabbed Max's arm. She always felt there was stension between them, but she couldn't put her finger on why.
Max was about to marry into the Horigan family, which was a much larger deal than the Velona Corporation. The Velona family just couldn't compete with the Horigans' connections.
He didn't want to fall out with Harvey over Eloise.
"Thanks, big bro," he politely said.
Harvey gave him a small smile.
He picked up his magazine again and flipped through it casually. His demeanor was quite cold, and even Orlena's sweet talk didn't seem to affect him much.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAt around four-thirty in the afternoon, Harvey stood up to leave.
"I've got things to take care of, so I'll head out first." His parents rarely got to see him, so they hoped he could stay for dinner.
"Next time! I really do have stuff to do." Harvey ruffled his sister's hair.
After Harvey left, Max told them he wasn't staying for dinner either.
Orlena, afraid he might feel awkward, made an excuse for him. She walked him to his car and said earnestly, "Don't mind my brother. He's always like this, not particularly warm to anyone." Max snorted.
If Harvey wasn't warm to anyone, then what was Eloise? Without saying much, he got into his car and sped off to tail Harvey.
Harvey gripped the steering wheel and glanced at the rear-view mirror.
He saw Max's car.
He chuckled, not attempting to lose Max, but slowing down to make sure Max could keep up.
Half an hour later, he picked up Eloise.
Eloise seemed to have just met with Angus. When she got in the car, there was a hint of redness in the corner of her eyes...
Harvey wasn't the type to be particularly attentive, especially with women. But this time, he gently asked, "You've seen your father already, so why are you crying? Are your eyes hurting?" "I didn't cry." Eloise tried to hide it.
Harvey chuckled, leaning in to whisper, "Are you crying because you're about to be taken advantage of by me? I haven't even started, and you're already like this?" Eloise shyly avoided his gaze.
Harvey chuckled, started the car, and glanced at the rear-view mirror again.
He's still following, with so much patience! It was rush hour, and the roads were jammed.
While waiting at a red light, Harvey casually asked about Angus. Eloise told him the truth.

Eloise thought for a moment and said, "Your house doesn't have any slippers for women, I need to buy a pair." Harvey muttered an agreement.
He rolled down the window, lit a cigarette, and rested his elbow on the window... enough for the car behind him to see him.
The traffic was slow, and it took half an hour to reach the area near the apartment. Harvey parked the car on the side of the road.
He unbuckled his seatbelt and turned to Eloise, "There's a hgoods om store across the street, you can pick NO whatever you need from there. I'm going to the pharmacy across the street to get smedicine." As he spoke, he took a bank card out of his wallet and told Eloise the pin. "From now on, the household expenses will be deducted from this card."
Eloise hesitated for a moment, but did not refuse. She got out of the car and walked into the hgoods! store, unaware that the store was a regular spot for Harvey's neighbors. If she visited a few more times, she would definitely run into them. Harvey finished his cigarette and stepped out of the car.
He walked towards the pharmacy across the street and picked up two boxes of condoms from the counter.
He took out two bills from his wallet and handed them to the cashier.
The cashier was a woman in her forties, and she was stunned when she saw Harvey Asysh scanned the items, she couldn't help but feel a little flustered, thinking: whoever he's using these with is a lucky woman...
