Chapter 288 Locked In Just when I thought I could finally catch a breath, another problem arose. I had simply gone to the restroom, yet somehow, I ended up locked inside a stall.

The interview was set to begin in ten minutes, and I hadn't even changed into my outfit yet. If I didn't make it out in time, they would replace me. I pushed against the door, but even though it budged slightly, it wouldn't open.

The lock had been jammed from the outside, making my attempt to turn the latch inside completely useless.

I looked up and saw that the top of the stall was open. An idea flashed through my mind-maybe I could climb out. And if I could think it, I could do it. That had always been my philosophy.

Thanks to the daily combat training with Eric, my stamina had improved.

Two minutes later, I jumped down from the stall door, unlocked the door from the outside, grabbed my bag, and walked out.

Back in the dressing room, I immediately noticed the outfit I had left behind had been shredded into pieces.

Right on cue, Elsa's voice rang out behind me. "Jane, where did you go just now? The interview is about to start, and you haven't even changed yet." I turned around and calmly met her gaze. I asked with a smile, "Shouldn't you be the one who knows best where I was?" Elsa feigned innocence. "Jane, what are you talking about? How would I know where you were? Jack and I searched everywhere for you. The production team was about to start without you." She stepped closer and glanced at the destroyed outfit in my hands before gasping in exaggerated shock. "Oh my god! What happened to your outfit?" Before I could reply, she continued with a look of concern, "Oh no... This won't do at all. You're representing Brown Group. You can't go on stage like this!" I chuckled, looking directly at her hypocritical expression. "So, for the sake of the company's image, wouldn't it be more appropriate for you to take my place?" Elsa's eyes brightened instantly before she quickly cleared her throat and composed herself.

"That wouldn't be right..." She hesitated, pretending to be conflicted. But the excitement in her eyes was obvious.

I smirked. Why wouldn't it be? There are only three minutes left until go live. You should go inform producer. Tell them my outfitwas ruined, so you'll be stepfi in." She remained hesitant, but I waved my hand and urged her on, "Go on. It's fine." At my insistence, Elsa finally nodded, putting on a brave, self-sacrificing expression. "Well... if it's for the company, I guess I have no choice." With that, she turned and left, her smile practically stretching to her ears.

Once she was out of sight, I pulled out the backup outfit I had packed in my bag and quickly changed. When I walked into the stuto find the producer, Elsa was already standing there in front of him.

Her voice was sweet as honey. "Jane's outfit got ruined, and she's unable to participate in the interview. I'd be happy to step in for her." The producer frowned slightly, looking skeptical. "But I heard that you aren't employed by the company. Wouldn't this be... inappropriate?"

Elsa hurriedly waved her hands, frantically explaining, "Even though I don't officially work there; I've helped out alot. I know the company's projects very well. I can handle it."

Hearing this, the producer put aside his skepticism. "If that's the case, them guess we have no choice but to go with your suggestion."

However, before he could give out the order, I stepped forward in the e nick of time. "I'm done changing. We can start the interview now."
