Chapter 238 Truly Inspirational I met Elsa's panicked gaze and flung the doctor's report right at her face.
"No concussion-not even a mild one. And yet, you have the nerve to act like you were on the brink of death?" Elsa tossed the report aside, and her voice trembled with sobs. "I really thought I was going to die... I was terrified. Jane, no matter what, you shouldn't have pushed me!" Jack held her hand, looking uncomfortable. "Elsa... could this be a misunderstanding? Jane was holding onto you the whole time. Maybe you remembered it wrong?" The moment he mentioned that I had been holding onto her, something in Elsa's memory clicked. She could have pulledback, but at the last second, she let go on purpose!" Before Jack could respond, Dad stepped forward with a stern expression. "Elsa! How could you slander your sister like that? She tried to save you, and her wrist is injured because of it! How could that be fake?" Elsa froze in shock at those words. I calmly raised my freshly bandaged wrist, making sure she got a good look. The muscle strain was real, though it hadn't happened from trying to save her but rather from flinging her to the side at the last second.
Not that it mattered. What mattered was that no one believed Elsa anymore.
Her face was drained of color, and disbelief flashed in her eyes.
I spoke up gently, playing the understanding sister. "Dad, maybe she's just shaken up from the fall. She must have gotten confused. It's probably not on purpose." I turned to Elsa. "Think carefully. Are you sure that's what happened?" Her eyes flashed with resentment, but after a long pause, she gritted her teeth as tears shimmered in her eyes.
"I remembered wrong. It was my mistake. I accidentally missed a step, which almost causedto fall. If it weren't for Jane, I could have been in real danger." I watched her leisurely, then smiled. "No worries. It was the right thing to do. After all, saving a life is the greatest good. But..." I shifted my gaze to her with a smile. "Even though your head is fine, you twisted your leg. You should stay hand rest for a while instead of going to the office. Otherwise, people at the company might start talking after seeing you hobbling around." Elsa froze. She wanted to argue, and the unwillingness in her eyes was clear. But she had no choice but to swallow her words with our parents present.
"Thank you for your concern, Jane. I'll make sure to recover quickly so that you don't have to worry." She spoke through clenched teeth.

She immediately continued, "If I'm stuck at hall the time, my inspiration will dry up. Researching things will be a hassle too. If I had a I spot in the company's design department, I'd have access to all sorts of materials. That would be a huge help for the competition." Jack nodded right away, looking thoroughly convinced.
