Chapter 231 Putting on a Show What I didn't expect was that just as I was about to finish for the day, Elsa suddenly pushed open the door to my office and barged in.
I closed the files and looked at her with a relaxed demeanor. "What's the matter?" Elsa's face was filled with anger, but she softened her tone. "Jane, do you really not wantto join the company?" I tilted my head, pretending to be confused before realizing it. "Are you talking about the design department?" She didn't respond but just stared at me, her eyes brimming with tears.
I sighed, rubbing my forehead helplessly. I couldn't help but remind her, saying, "You know your tears won't work on me, right?" Elsa nodded but didn't stop crying. Her voice trembled as she asked, "Jane, what did I do to upset you? Why are you so hostile toward me?" I looked at her coldly. "Figure it out. I'm not obligated to answer that question." With that, I stood up from my seat and walked toward her. "I won't let anyone with ulterior motives enter Brown Group." Elsa fixed her gaze on me, trying hard not to let her resentment show in her eyes. She stared atunblinkingly, her tears flowing freely.

I didn't have the tor patience to argue with her any longer. I simply opened the office door. "You're free to go. Goodbye." Elsa stood there frozen, locked in a silent standoff with me.
It wasn't until I sensed someone approaching from behind that Elsa seemed to get the signal to move. She cried as she ran out, crashing straight into the person behind me.
Turning around, I saw Jack and Dad standing there.
Jack pulled Elsa into his arms, his face full of concern. He looked at me, unable to hide his disapproval. "Why did you make Elsa cry again? She just wanted to invite you to dinner." Dad watched the scene silently. Though he didn't scold me, his expression held a trace of disapproval.
I quickly realized that Dad had planned to take us out to dinner, and Elsa had volunteered to cfind me. They had been waiting for us in the office for a while, but when we didn't show up, they decided to cfind us. Just as they reached the door of my office, they saw Elsa storm out, her face full of anger and frustration.
I stood in the doorway, my expression cold and indifferent.
Elsa collapsed into Jack's arms, sobbing as she choked out the words, "Jack, don't blJane. It's my fault. I didn't explain myself clearly..." Before she could finish, her crying beceven more intense.
Jack turned towith a stern look. "Even if you don't want Elsa to join the company, you don't have to take things this extreme." I was speechless. Here I was, sitting in my office, yet somehow, the blwas being thrown at me.

Dad looked troubled. He opened his mouth slightly as if he was about to say something about letting Elsa into the company as a compromise.
I squeezed his hand, smiled slightly, and said, "Elsa, I suggest you know I when to back off I don't have that to back much patience. You should know by now that I've got plenty of tricks up my sleeve, right?" At my words, Elsa stopped crying. Slowly, she turned her tear-streaked face toward me.
I raised an eyebrow, gesturing toward my office chair.
The surveillance camera hanging above was perfectly positioned to capture her actions.
Her face turned pale. Though she sniffled, she had no choice but to om speak up. "Jane didn't bully me... It's just that I got a bit emotional earlier, and that's why I cried. It has nothing to do with Jane." Jack's gaze shifted between Elsa and me, his eyes glinting with an unreadable look.
