Chapter 1655 In the quiet of Aldridge Estate, all eyes were on Colby seated on the sofa.
Sophie couldn't help but take Colby's hand, reassuring him, "Colby, Harold's people have gone to gather information. I believe Adler will be fine. Don't worry too much." Adler and Jenna had been missing for twenty-four hours, with no word from them.
The outskirts of the Silent Shadows valley were teeming with more mercenaries, seemingly to ward them off intentionally.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtNow, even though they knew Wesley was the leader of the Silent Shadows, it did them no good; they had no way to get to Wesley.
"Mr. Aldridge! Mr. Adler he..." "Where is he?" Colby was up from the sofa in an instant, with Sophie and Harold looking equally tense.
The security at the door said, "Mr. Adler is outside, but... he was carried over." Hearing that Adler had been carried back, Sophie's heart skipped a beat. They immediately ran outside Aldridge Estate, only to see Adler being carried on a stretcher by unknown individuals outside the iron gate.
"Adler!" Sophie quickly said to the bodyguards, "What are you waiting for? Bring him in, now!" "Yes!" The bodyguards stepped out of Aldridge Estate's gates, Adler on the stretcher looking pale, his abdomen hastily bandaged, already seeping blood.
"Don't worry, it's just a superficial wound." Harold said, calling out to William inside Aldridge Estate, "William! Hurry! Cand save him!" William, carrying a medical kit, ran down from the second floor, his proficiency stirring empathy.
"Here! Where is he?" Rushing to the crowd, William soon noticed Adler lying on the stretcher.
"Good Lord!" After a quick examination of Adler's condition, William concluded urgently, "Heavens, if he had been brought back any later, the wound might have healed on its own!" "What nonsense are you spouting? Can't you see he's unconscious? Save him now!" Harold kicked William's behind, who then rubbed it, saying, "Wasn't I just trying to lighten the mood since everyone seemed so tense?" "Is this the tto lighten the mood? It's tfor you to save him!" William, exasperated, said, "He's fine! This guy was clever, had a leather wallet tucked by his waist. It's just a flesh wound; he won't die in an hour!" Colby and others, anxious and confused, hadn't noticed the leather wallet pressed against Adler's wound.
The wallet had been pierced, but fortunately, it wasn't life-threatening.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmSophie breathed a sigh of relief, "So, it's nothing serious?" "Yep!" "And when will he wake up?"
"That's easy! Given his condition, he'll m probably wake up from the pain! when I treat his wound."
Seeing Sophie's unamused Hey expression, William turned serious, "I'll take him now. He'll definitely wake E up within an hour." "Please hurry." "Will do!" William immediately had the stretcher carried upstairs.
An hour later, William emerged from the room, inviting Sophie, Colby, and Harold inside.
In the bedroom, Adler looked feeble, more disheveled than Sophiechad ever seen him. She asked, "Did you En see Jenna?"
