Griffin lay inside the container, eyes shut tight, looking deathly pale.
"Griffin! Griffin!" she cried, frantically patting his face to wake him up. But her eyes quickly caught the sight of a bleeding wound on his abdomen. Her heart sank. "Quick! Call a doctor!" she shouted.
"Right away!" The secretary ran off to fetch medical help, while Elodie stormed to the front desk, her voice trembling with urgency. "Find out who sent this, now!" "It was Sophie! The new Mrs. Costello from the Costello family!" the receptionist stammered.
Hearing Sophie's name, Elodie's face darkened further. Griffin had been missing for days, and she never imagined he would go to Summerfield to confront Sophie and Colby.
